Daddy/Daughter Date

video

A few weeks ago, Ben took A to her first concert. Thomas and Friends came to Charlotte, so we thought it would be a fun and cute date for the two of them. Isn't that what all daughters want to do with their daddies? Aside from a scary rock that crashed loudly (almost squishing Percy), and sticky fingers after cotton candy, they had a great time.

I've recently been struck with the number of girls who are also Thomas fans. We have a pending playdate set with a few girls we've parallel played with at the train table at AC Moore (what drama will ensue with girls around a train table could be interesting). While I have no issue whatsoever with the boyness of Thomas, I want to send a request to the powers-that-be that they are missing a huge demographic (of the XX variety) by marketing only to boys. Where are the Emily and Rosie and Mavis and Lady shirts?

Oh, Emily, she's adorable! I mean, I knew that all along, but it's so fun to hear that little voice. More videos!

I love this video, especially A's description of her outfit. I suggest that we start a campaign to encourage the Thomas Train people to have a contest, in honor of their little girl fans, to create/name a new Female engine....maybe a mom/daughter or dad/daughter story writing contest.

So fun! I was wondering how the Thomas show was! I think of Adelaide sometimes when Tucker is playing with his train table...let's plan a playdate over here soon!

I love this! A cracks me up. She is very thorough in her outfit description. Glad a good time was had by all at the Thomas show! A can come play with our train table anytime. Although she may have to remove some barbies who have thrown themselves across the tracks. Drama Queens....
